On this site we would like to inform you some more about Somey Traditional Area Volta Region Ghana...
The Volta Region with its Capital, Ho, is situated in the east of Ghana, sharing borders with Togo. The area is named after the Volta River.
Known as the region of contrasts, the Volta Region has the lowest point in Ghana - the Keta Lagoon basin - lying below sea level - and the highest point - Mountain Afadjato, 2905 ft above sea level. The Region extends from the Atlantic Coast to the fringes of the Savanna grassland northwards.
The Estuary is an area of great scenic beauty. In the Estuary proper, where the river enters the sea (between Azizanya and Azizanu), extensive sand bars have formed and have become the nesting grounds of numerous sea birds.
